In a loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday night, both Kemba Walker and Cody Zeller had a career game for the Charlotte Hornets.

In a tight game on Monday night, the Charlotte Hornets were not able to pull off a win for some players who ended up having a career night. A broken team record by Kemba Walker and a career scoring night by Cody Zeller was not enough to get the win over the Golden State Warriors.

During this game, the Charlotte Hornets had multiple opportunities to take the lead, but they could not stop the fastbreak offense of the Warriors. When everything was said and done, the final score for this matchup was 121-110.

More from Swarm and Sting

Kemba Walker

Despite a poor shooting night for Kemba, he managed to get close to his scoring average by scoring twenty-three points.

Was the poor shooting in this game caused by the rolled ankle that Walker suffered in the first half?

Walker did not let this minor injury stop him from shooting and breaking a team record though.

In the loss to Golden State, Walker passed Dell Curry in the Career Feild Goals made for the Hornets. This record just makes Walker’s resume as a superstar even stronger.

Cody Zeller

In this loss, it was hard to imagine what kind of game Zeller was going to have as he was matched up against DeMarcus Cousins. If you would have told me Zeller would have a career night tonight, I would maybe believe you, but it would have been hard to imagine him leading the game in scoring.

In the loss to the Warriors, Zeller finished the game with a stat line of 28 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. It is also important to mention that Zeller only missed one shot during the entire game!

This was a career night by Zeller, and this scoring from the frontcourt has been needed all season for the Hornets. This positive production incline for Zeller can only mean that Charlotte has a positive outlook in their frontcourt’s scoring.

On Wednesday, the Hornets will look to face the Houston Rockets for the first time this season in Uptown. Charlotte must win this one to avoid putting their playoff seed in danger, and so they can get back to three games under the .500 mark.
