Daniel Gafford

Arkansas center Daniel Gafford was one of the five players I wrote about last month, and I continue to think he would be a really good pick for the Charlotte Hornets.

He plays a position that the Hornets could easily look to upgrade, and he has the tools to be a really good center in the NBA. His athleticism is apparent, his rim protection is on point, and he’s the kind of big man you’d love to have on your team.

You really don’t even have to run plays for Gafford. He’s always around the basket finishing with some wild dunks and his presence will make guards question going into the paint. He may not be the most talented player, but there’s no doubt that the tools he possesses will make an impact in the big league.

His draft range is currently wide open. He’s projected to be a first rounder, but many differentiate whether or not he’s in the middle of the first round, or the back of the first round. Regardless, I think he’d be a great get for the Hornets.

The center position is definitely a spot in which the Hornets could use their draft pick on. This may not be the deepest draft class, but they should be able to find good talent in the first round.
