The playoffs are not out of sight for the Charlotte Hornets as they are currently riding a three-game winning streak.

Last week the Charlotte Hornets looked as if they did not have a chance at the playoffs, but as of late, they have caught fire. The Hornets are riding a three-game winning streak, and they have beaten two of the biggest name teams in the league.

On a series of a back-to-back, the Hornets were able to beat the Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors. Defeating two top NBA teams is not an easy feat, especially when the games occur without a break.

With the Hornets’ miraculous win on Sunday night, the Hornets are currently sitting with a record of 34-39, and are in the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference.

The team is only two games behind the Miami Heat, who are currently in 8th place; Charlotte is also one game behind the Orlando Magic, who are in the 9th spot.

Being in 10th place is not good at the moment, but what is good, is the fact that the Hornets currently own the tie-breaker over the two teams ahead of them. If the Hornets finish with a similar record as the Magic and Heat, Charlotte would automatically claim the 8th spot.

There are less than ten games that remain in the NBA season, so the Hornets need to hope that the two teams ahead of them lose at least two games. In doing so, the Hornets need to do their part by continuing to win games.

In my opinion, the Hornets only have to face three challenging teams to finish the year. The games against the Utah Jazz, Golden State Warriors, and Detroit Pistons are important ones to win if the Hornets want to be in the playoffs.

Of course, the Hornets must take care of business in the last two games of the season as well. They must take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road, and the Orlando Magic at home to close out the season.

At this point, it is a matter of winning games, and score watching other games. If the Hornets continue to play the way they have in the past three games, then they should have no problem taking care of these remaining games.

The Hornets must continue their winning streak by beating the San Antonio Spurs in Uptown on Tuesday night. These two teams have already played this year, and the last game resulted in a 108-93 Hornets’ victory.

This game must be won by Charlotte if they want to continue their playoff push. It would be nice if the Hornets could make the playoffs this season after missing the postseason for the past two seasons.
