Charlotte Hornets: 2019 NBA Mock Draft Vol. 1
No. 21 – Boston Celtics:
Zachary Padmore – Sekou Doumbouya. (France)
“Sekou Doumbouya is an International man of mystery in this draft class, but his potential should land him in the first round.
Doumbouya is really lengthy, and that length helps him on the defensive end of the court. He’s also a good athlete and finisher around the rim. The big thing with him, like a lot of players in this draft, is his lack of a jump-shot.
He also has a good motor, and you always like to see that in a player. He plays with energy and effort all the time. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him come to the NBA right away, but the Celtics could also choose to stash him overseas for a little bit while he develops.
This is a high risk/high reward type pick for Boston.”
Giovanni Spillman – Charles Bassey. (Western Kentucky)
“With the Celtics having their second pick in the first round, I see them taking Charles Bassey, a center from Western Kentucky.
During the season, Bassey averaged 14.6 points and ten rebounds per game. He has the potential to become a nice big man for the Celtics while coming off the bench, and he could become even better if he improves his perimeter game.
Bassey finished the season with 2.4 blocks per game as well; he could develop into a nice defender. He also started in every game has has played in this season.”
