2. 30-5 run vs Celtics

On March 23rd, the Hornets hosted the Celtics in an important game. Charlotte was on the outside of the playoff bubble, so they needed every win they could get. It wasn’t looking good against Boston, but a 30-5 run in the fourth quarter would change things.

With 7:49 remaining in the fourth quarter, it looked as if Boston was going to come away with a victory. However, the Hornets ended the game on a 30-5 run and ended up beating the Celtics. It was one of the best wins of the season.

Kemba Walker led the way, as he had hit some crazy clutch shots, including a three-pointer with 1:19 left to give Charlotte a one point lead. He finished the game one assist shy of a triple-double (36 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists).

After that win, the Hornets would go on a four-game winning streak, before ultimately falling to the Los Angeles Lakers on March 29th on LeBron James‘ final game of the regular season. That 30-5 run gave the Hornets some serious momentum to close the season.

They went 6-4 overall after this win, and were just one game away from a playoff birth. We all know how that ended, but like I’ve said many times, this team fought really hard for that final eighth playoff spot.
