9. Neemias Queta
This Utah State freshman was under-the-radar all season long, and he now has a chance to raise his stock significantly in front of a ton of front office personnel at the NBA Draft Combine.
Neemias Queta had a very good first year in college, and could end up being a first round pick thanks to his upside and length on the defensive end. He averaged 11.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in just 27.1 minutes.
Considering the Hornets want to add a rim protector, Queta could be a good option for them. I’m not sure if they would use their lottery pick on him, but they could always trade down or trade for a second first rounder to select him, or hope he falls to the second round.
His defense is fantastic, and his offensive game is improving. He’s an alley-oop threat, but he has also shown some promise in the post. He finds quite a lot of different ways to score.
It would not surprise me at all if Queta has a dominant showing at the Draft Combine and becomes a riser prior to draft day. He’s only 19 years old and has plenty of room to grow moving forward. He is certainly an exciting prospect and I think that he would be a perfect fit in Charlotte.
