3. Nicolas Claxton

Here we have a player in Nicolas Claxton who has already had a pre-draft workout with the Charlotte Hornets. The sophomore from Georgia will get another look from the Hornets during the combine and will also get the chance to show off his measurements and potential on the defensive end of the court.

I’m expecting Claxton to make a strong impression during the Draft Combine. If he does, he could cement his status as a first round pick and keep his name in the draft. He’s someone the Hornets could look at via trade, because taking him 12th overall might be a bit of a stretch.

As a sophomore at Georgia, Claxton put up averages of 13.0 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. Those are impressive numbers, considering he didn’t get much playing time at all during his freshman season.

He’s going to need to improve his shooting, as well as his body, but overall, this kid will make for a great project for any team thanks to his defensive abilities.

He will be someone to watch during the 5-on-5 portion of the Draft Combine. If he plays well and tests well, his draft stock could soar moving forward. Claxton is definitely one of the more intriguing players in this years draft class.
