6. Mfiondu Kabengele

After a strong junior season and even better NCAA Tournament, Mfiondu Kabengele has solidified himself as a draft riser and a potential first round draft pick in June during the 2019 NBA Draft.

Kabengele stands 6’10” and has a 7’3″ wingspan. The thing that I love most about him is his effort and energy. He’s a dog out on the court, and always plays hard, which you have to respect. He also has a nice touch from the perimeter, which will certainly help him in the NBA.

He attacks the glass aggressively, always creating opportunities for rebounds. His motor is nonstop, and he finished strongly around the basket. He’s also a good rim protector, which is what Charlotte needs.

If he has a strong showing at the Draft Combine, and keeps up that momentum going into pre-draft workouts, I can see him being a mid-first round pick. Personally, I don’t even think taking him 12th overall (assuming the Hornets stay at that position) is much of a stretch at all.

He plays hard, he’s a good defender, he can stretch the floor — there’s a lot to like about Kabengele. He would be a great addition to the Hornets up front.
