No. 13 – Miami Heat:
Zachary Padmore: Nickeil Alexander-Walker. (Virginia Tech)
“One of the more versatile players in this years draft class would be Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who should have no problem playing and guarding three different positions in the NBA. He has great size at 6’5″ and tremendous length, which really helps him on the defensive end.
Miami has done a good job over the years with developing guards, which is why Alexander-Walker could be a good project for them. He has a good handle, being able to dribble and drive with either hand, and he does finish well around the basket. His jump shot will be big priority in his development as a professional.”
Giovanni Spillman: Darius Garland. (Vanderbilt)
“The Miami Heat do not have a lot of depth at their point guard position, and Darius Garland could be their answer. Garland had a successful season with Vanderbilt despite getting injured, averaging 16.2 points and 2.6 assists per game.
He lacks height, as he is 6’2”, but his offensive abilities make up for that. Garland would be a great insurance option if Goran Dragic gets hurt or decides not to accept his player option this off-season.”
