Charlotte Hornets 2019 NBA Mock Draft Vol. 2: Post-Lottery Edition
No. 14 – Boston Celtics (VIA SAC):
Zachary Padmore: P.J. Washington. (Kentucky)
P.J. Washington didn’t have a great freshman season at Kentucky, but boy, he sure did turn things around as a sophomore and could be a lottery pick during next month’s draft. He’s a really well-rounded forward that will fit very nicely in today’s NBA of floor spacing and position-less basketball.
Washington can stretch the floor, but the ball on the deck and make plays. Boston will have a ton of question marks hovering over them this off-season, so going best player available at this point in the draft would be a smart thing to do. Washington could very well be the best player on the board for Boston.”
Giovanni Spillman: Keldon Johnson. (Kentucky)
“Keldon Johnson is the perfect pick for the Boston Celtics if the team is looking for extra depth at the two spot. Johnson proved that he was an efficient scorer this season at Kentucky, and I think that he could have a successful start to the season with Boston.
The Celtics would have the chance to mold this player how they want to, and he is a nice insurance option behind Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown. With a year off the bench, I think he could develop into a deadly shooter for the Celtics.”
