No. 17 – Brooklyn Nets:
Zachary Padmore: Mfiondu Kabengele. (Florida State)
“One of the big risers prior to the draft has been Florida State’s sixth man and energy big Mfiondu Kabengele. The junior has soared up draft boards thanks to his restless motor and effort on both ends of the court.
He may not have a definitive position right now, but I do think he will be more of a center in the NBA. He can space the floor and hit the three-point shot, but also hurt you inside with his finishing around the basket and second jump, creating offensive rebound opportunities. Oh, and he’s also a good rim protector. Lots to like about Kabengele and his upside.”
Giovanni Spillman: Nassir Little. (North Carolina)
“I’m staying with my first selection and having the Brooklyn Nets select Nassir Little. Little had a great season coming off the bench for the North Carolina Tar Heels. Despite not starting a game, he averaged 9.8 points per game for the Heels.
I see him being a starter in the near future for the Nets, as they lack a lot of offensive production from their forward position. Little has a nose for scoring the basketball, and I just think he needs the right coaches to help him reach his fullest potential.”
