No. 20 – Boston Celtics (VIA LAC):
Zachary Padmore: Romeo Langford. (Indiana)
“Romeo Langford was bothered by a hand injury throughout his freshman season at Indiana, which is why his shooting percentages weren’t the best. Despite battling through the pain, Langford still managed to showcase the upside that made him a five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American in high school.
I think Langford projects to be a good scorer at the NBA level. Maybe more of a sixth man type player rather than a starter, but he will certainly have a long and successful career. He may be able to crack Boston’s rotation pretty quickly, depending on what moves they make this summer.”
Giovanni Spillman: Nicolas Claxton. (Georgia)
“With the Celtics second pick in the first round, I see them targeting Nicolas Claxton, a forward from Georgia. Claxton had a great season at Georgia, and he turned a lot of heads with his defensive abilities.
He averaged 2.5 blocks per game, while also stealing the ball 1.1 times per game. He’s a decent scorer who had a huge impact in every game of the season; he started all thirty-two games. He’s got great length, so I can see him being a nice backup behind Marcus Morris. My only concern is his lack of perimeter shooting, and this can definitely be improved. I think he could be a productive off the Celtics bench if he is selected.”
