No. 22 – Boston Celtics:

Zachary Padmore: KZ Okpala. (Stanford)

“KZ Okpala could be a really good pickup for a playoff team picking late in the first round. He’s still a raw player, so it’s going to take him a few years to really make an impact, but he’s well worth the time and development for a franchise.

Okpala has great size at 6’8″, and he can play three different positions. He’s a really good athlete and an improving shooter and playmaker. He has had a successful Draft Combine thus far, but is going to have to show teams that he is willing to work hard and put in the effort.

In the end, I think this kid has a ton of potential, and this would be a really strong pick for a Boston team that has had a ton of success over the years in the draft.”

Giovanni Spillman: Ty Jerome. (Virginia)

“This is the third first round pick that the Celtics have, and I know they are enjoying all of this young talent that they get to choose from. With this pick, I see them taking Ty Jerome, a guard from Virginia.

He recently won a championship with De’Andre Hunter, so it’s no secret that this prospect likes to win. He averaged 13.6 points, 5.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game for Virginia. He’s a great scorer who would prosper under the guidance of Kyrie Irving, if he stays in Boston. If he does not stay, then Jerome would be a good insurance option for the Celtics.

He’s also got great size for someone playing as a guard at 6’5″. I think he would adapt well to the Celtics’ winning ways.”
