No. 25 – Portland Trail Blazers:

Zachary Padmore: Ty Jerome. (Virginia)

“Ty Jerome, the crafty 6’5″ guard from Virginia, will be on the radar of a lot of teams picking late in the first round after his NCAA Tournament run that ended with a National Championship. Jerome made a name for himself, proving he has what it takes to make it into the NBA.

He just has such a good feel for the game. He’s never in a rush, gets to his spots, and is always on balance. If need be, Jerome can come in and enter the Blazers rotation right away thanks to his experience in college. He’s NBA ready, and will help a team down the line.”

Giovanni Spillman: Jontay Porter. (Missouri)

“With the Portland Trail Blazers holding this spot, I think they should select the former lottery hopeful, Jontay Porter. Before Porter tore his ACL at the beginning of the season, he was sought on to be a lottery pick in this years draft.

He was only able to play his first year in college because of this injury, and this made prospects turn a blind eye on him. His offensive skill set and perimeter shooting make him a threat for a player at the four spot.

While his wingspan is only 7’0″, he still has a nose for blocking the basketball; he averaged 1.7 blocks per game during the 2017-18 season. If he improves his jump shot, I think he can potentially join the starting unit for Portland.”
