Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lamb will be an unrestricted free agent later this month, and will have plenty of suitors around the association.
One of the most exciting times of the summer is fast approaching for Charlotte Hornets fans. Free agency is upon us, and the Hornets have a lot of work to do. Kemba Walker isn’t the only important player that will hit the open market for Charlotte, as Jeremy Lamb will also be a free agent.
Well, free agency can be exciting, but it’s likely going to be a long and stressful time for Hornets fans this year. This is a very important off-season, and depending on how free agency unfolds, the franchise could completely shift into another direction, or stay put and try to win right now.
If the team re-signs Kemba Walker, it’s going to be even more difficult to re-sign Jeremy Lamb, especially if Walker gets his $221 million supermax contract extension. Lamb is coming off a career-best season, so he will draw plenty of interest around the league as a tier-two free agent and should see a significant raise.
Lamb averaged 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds for the Hornets during the 2018-19 season. He shot 35 percent from three-point range and was a consistent force all season long for Charlotte.
The hope is that Charlotte can figure out a way to keep Lamb in town, but today, we’ll be taking a look at five teams that would be good landing spots for Lamb if he were to leave and sign elsewhere in free agency.
Let’s get started!
