One prospect that I feel does not get talked about enough is Kentucky sophomore P.J. Washington. He’s a definite lottery talent and has the talent to be a very good playmaking stretch four in the NBA. Miami could look to pair him up with fellow Kentucky player Bam Adebayo in the front court.

Washington elected to return to school after his freshman season, knowing he still had a lot to work on if he wanted to make it into the NBA. Well, he spent a lot of time working on his game and it showed this past season, as Washington averaged 15.2 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Wildcats.

He became a much improved three-point shooter, knocking down 42 percent of his triples this season. He didn’t take a ton of three’s, but Washington showed that he is clearly comfortable stretching the floor and shooting from the perimeter.

Washington is also a very good rebounder and passer. His basketball IQ and defense are also strong. He’ll be one of the more safer picks; he doesn’t have star upside but you know you’re going to get a smart player that will have a long career.

Miami would be one of the more ideal landing spots for Washington.
