Pick Analysis. VIRGINIA TECH. 16. Scouting Report. PG/SG. NICKEIL ALEXANDER-WALKER. player. 38

Another one of my favorite prospects in this years draft would be Virginia Tech sophomore Nickeil Alexander-Walker. He’s actually someone that I think the Hornets should take a strong look at. If he’s available when Orlando is on the clock, he’d be a perfect pick for them.

Alexander-Walker has great size for a guard at 6’5″, along with solid length that help him on the defensive end. He’s a good three-point shooter and playmaker as well. Orlando has been hoping to land a young guard, and Alexander-Walker fits in to exactly what they are trying to accomplish.

During the 2018-19 season, Alexander-Walker averaged 16.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists. He’s an all-around guard that has impressed many around the league throughout the pre-draft process, including the Charlotte Hornets.

Orlando is putting together quite the defensive team, so adding another defender at the guard position like Alexander-Walker would be really nice. They made the playoffs this season under former Hornets coach Steve Clifford, and will hope to keep that momentum going into next season.

Fun Fact: Alexander-Walker is the cousin of Los Angeles Clippers guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
