Romeo Langford didn’t live up to his full expectations during his lone year at Indiana University, but he did enough to warrant a likely first round selection in the draft. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard averaged 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

A hand injury really effected Langford’s shooting. Specifically, it was a torn ligament in his thumb that required surgery after the college basketball season. He shot just 27.2 percent from the three-point line at Indiana. Trust me, he’s a much better shooter than that.

Langford’s biggest strength is his pure scoring ability. He can create his own shot, which is so important in today’s NBA. The hand injury may have been a blessing in disguise. Since his outside shot wasn’t falling, Langford had to finish around the basket a lot more often and he excelled at it. He was one of the best finishers in college basketball.

If you think Langford will shine at the NBA level, you’re not alone. Langford himself claimed that he’s the best player in this draft when at the NBA Draft Combine. The kid doesn’t lack confidence. He would be a good fit as a shooting guard to develop on Oklahoma City’s veteran roster.
