Charlotte Hornets 2019 NBA Mock Draft Vol. 3: Full Two-Round Projections
Next we have arguably the best perimeter defender in this draft class — Matisse Thybulle. The senior from Washington had eyes on him all season long, and he’s even been rumored to have a draft promise from a team late in the first round. His pre-draft process has been a little bit quiet because of that supposed promise.
Thybulle projects to be a “3&D” player at the next level. He’s a lockdown defender and an improving shooter. He is also a very good athlete, which helps him get to the basket at times. He averaged 9.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.5 steals (!) AND 2.3 blocks this past season at Washington.
Those defensive stats are absolutely insane. He’s easily the best on-ball defender in this draft. Boston is a good defensive team, so they wouldn’t hesitate to add another junkyard dog defender to the squad like Thybulle.
Thybulle could be a really good pick for a playoff team picking late in the first round. Expect him to get a hard look from multiple teams, including the Celtics.
