Charlotte Hornets 2019 NBA Mock Draft Vol. 3: Full Two-Round Projections
You can debate that Kevin Porter Jr. has lottery talent, but his draft stock has fallen due to his poor decision making and concerns about his character off the court. Cleveland can take a risk here and hope he pans out, because if he does, Porter Jr. would be a major steal at 26th overall.
He started off the 2018-19 season red hot, but was then slowed down by injuries and a suspension. He was once viewed as a definite lottery pick, but I think he’s more of a late first rounder at this point. The talent is there, but he still has some legit concerns moving forward.
Porter Jr. only averaged 9.5 points and 4.0 rebounds during the season at USC. Like I said, he started off the season on a tear, but finished poorly. Some still saw enough out of him from early in the season to be at least intrigued with his upside.
Cleveland, who I had taking Doumbouya fifth overall, would be adding two guys with loads of potential. They are in full rebuild mode, so they would prefer younger guys with high upside, which could make Porter Jr. a prime candidate for the 26th overall pick in the draft.
