28. player. 41. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. PF. TENNESSEE. GRANT WILLIAMS

If Grant Williams is on the board at 28th overall, the Warriors could be potentially get a major steal. Williams was one of the best players in all of college basketball last season, and even if his upside isn’t as high as others, he’s more of a sure thing that will have a long career thanks to his fundamentals and IQ.

Williams has been compared by many to be the next P.J. Tucker. Every team needs one of those players; a guy who does the dirty work and is a team-first oriented guy. Williams may be undersized for a power forward at 6’7″, but he plays a lot bigger than that.

He’s also been working on his three-point shot, and I firmly believe that one day he will be a reliable shooter from the perimeter. He’s got a tremendous feel for the game. He can pass, defend, rebound and score in the post. He’s the kind of player that any team would love to have late in the first round.

During the 2018-19 season at Tennessee, Williams averaged 18.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 56 percent from the field and 33 percent from deep. He was named the SEC Player of the Year for the second straight season, and led Tennessee to the Sweet 16 before being eliminated by Purdue.

Williams could very well be a steal for the Warriors if he is available when they are picking.
