NORTH CAROLINA. CAMERON JOHNSON. 29. player. Scouting Report. SF. 29. Pick Analysis

We’ve talked about quite a lot of good shooters in this draft class, but meet the best three-point sniper in the draft — Cameron Johnson. The North Carolina senior shot over 47 percent from the three-point line last season and will get looks from teams who are looking for an extra shooter.

While Johnson does have other skills, his role at the next level will likely be a three-point specialist, at least in the beginning of his career. You see some really good shooters in every draft class, but Johnson is really on another level and will make a living in the NBA for a very long time thanks to that.

The Spurs took on another pure shooter a few years ago in Bryn Forbes, and they have done a marvelous job turning him into more of a complete player. They could very well replicate that success with a guy like Johnson, who wants to get better and keep adding to his game.

San Antonio has been nailing late round draft picks for years now. We all expect the next Spurs draftee to turn into a really good player, and I could see that happening with Johnson at 29th overall.
