Charlotte Hornets Round Table: Draft Day Questionnaire
By De White
Who’re you looking for the team to bring in?
Brendan: “Gonzaga’s Rui Hachimura, is the guy I would like Charlotte to pick up. the 21 year old can play both the 3 & 4 and also standing at 6’8 has a 7’2 wingspan. A little bit of a tweener, similar to Miles Bridges, the 12 pick of last years draft, however Rui could fill a major need at the four for Charlotte.”
Zachary: “If I were the Hornets General Manager, my first two targets would be Brandon Clarke and Jaxson Hayes. After that, they still have multiple options including P.J. Washington, Nassir Little and others. However, my gut feeling right now is that Kevin Porter Jr. could be a legit candidate to go 12th overall. Teams in the late lottery love his upside.”
Elijah: “At this point, I’m down to either Nassir Little or Rui Hachimura. I think Nas has more upside on the athletic end, but Rui is a better overall player, especially given that he improved his shot over the past season. Nassir has apparently been shooting well, too, so either player would be fine by me.”
De: “My top players now are Kevin Porter Jr., Rui Hachimura, Brandon Clark, and Nassir Little, but I’m completely leaning more towards KPJ. Seeing him play just makes me excited to think about pairing with Bridges and hopefully Kemba. However, I feel like Little didn’t get to showcase his full potential at UNC and could be a sneakily good player as well. I feel that Hachimura and Clark would be great players as well, but I think Clark will be gone before our choice and Hachimura shouldn’t be selected as high.”
Giovanni: “Right now I would like to see the Hornets get Bol Bol or Brandon Clarke. Both of these players know how to score, and they do a great job on defense. The Hornets lack defense in their frontcourt, so it will be interesting to see if they select one of these two prospects.”
