2018-19 best teammate: Jeremy Lamb

Kemba Walker’s sidekick for this past season was Jeremy Lamb, who had a breakout season and has, like Walker, set himself up for a major raise during Free Agency. Lamb averaged 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds for Charlotte in 2018-19.

Like I said, this was a pretty easy choice; that won’t always be the case as we continue on down the ladder. Lamb really improved his game during last summer and his hard work payed off. He gave Walker a reliable second option in the back court, and he was able to take some of the offensive load off of him at times.

Walker and Lamb both played great and consistent basketball during the season, but unfortunately for them, they didn’t get much of the same from others on the team. Miles Bridges had some great moments, but like all rookies, he struggled at times and really only caught on towards the end of the season.

Cody Zeller, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marvin Williams were all hampered by injuries throughout the season, and Nicolas Batum‘s value may have hit rock bottom. It’s pretty impressive, in my eyes, that Walker and Lamb nearly took this team to the playoffs, even in the lackluster Eastern Conference. They had a lot of pressure on their shoulders.

Lamb wasn’t a star for the Hornets this season, but man, he was really good. The fans would love to continue seeing these two in Hornets jerseys in the future, but that may not happen.
