Charlotte Hornets: Kemba Walker’s best teammate from each season of his career
2015-16 best teammate: Nicolas Batum
Here we have Nicolas Batum again, who was very productive during the 2015-16 season. It was his best season in recent memory, as well as the Charlotte Hornets best season in recent memory, winning 48 games and taking the Miami Heat to seven games in the first round of the playoffs.
Batum averaged 14.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists for the Hornets. It was his first season in Charlotte after being traded from Portland, where he spent the first seven years of his career. The 2015-16 season could arguably have been the best of his career thus far.
This was a really good Hornets team that had a lot of depth and weapons coming off the bench. Guys like Jeremy Lin and Courtney Lee played huge roles on that team. It just goes to show that in order to have success in the NBA, you need a good bench, and that’s something that the Hornets just don’t have these days, despite the early success from it this past season.
Batum was a very good player at this time, but not the star that Kemba Walker needed, especially when he himself was making the big jump to stardom.
