2012-13 best teammate: Gerald Henderson

The 2012-13 season followed up the darkest season in franchise history, but things didn’t get much better. The team was led by Kemba Walker, who was just in his second year at the time, and Gerald Henderson. It was just a train wreck, but thankfully, things have improved since this two-year period.

In the end, the Bobcats finished with a record of 21-61. Walker struggled with his shot as a second year professional, but was able to average 17.7 points and 5.7 assists. His running mate in the back court was Gerald Henderson, who averaged 15.5 points and 3.7 rebounds as one of the top options.

Henderson was a good player who had his career cut short due to a hip injury. The best years of his career were in Charlotte as a member of the Bobcats and Hornets, so it’s a shame that the team failed to pick up many wins along the way. He spent time in Portland and Philadelphia after his tenure with the Hornets.

Since then, Henderson has gotten into broadcasting. He was with the Hornets broadcast team for most of last season. I enjoyed watching Walker and Henderson play together, despite the lack of success.
