No. 5 – Ricky Rubio

One point guard that a lot of teams will have their eyes on this summer is Ricky Rubio, who will not be returning to Utah after two seasons with the Jazz. If the Hornets lose Kemba, Rubio could be one of the best replacements possible on the open market. He’s not going to command a max contract, so the price could work.

Despite that, Rubio himself has mentioned the Hornets as a possible destination for him during an interview with Eurohoops. He clearly wants to remain a starter, so Charlotte could be one of his best options if they do lose Walker.

Rubio is one of the better playmakers in the league. He always has his head up and is ready to make plays. He has improved as a shooter during his time in Utah, but he’s still not reliable from the perimeter. He’s a solid defender and fiery competitor, which could appeal to the Hornets front office.

Outside of guys like Kyrie Irving and Kemba Walker, Rubio is one of the better point guard options on the market, and will generate a lot of interest throughout the league. Charlotte could be an appealing landing spot for both sides.
