No. 3 – Emmanuel Mudiay

The New York Knicks, who have been actively trying to carve out some extra cap space, made Emmanuel Mudiay an unrestricted free agent after not extending him a qualifying offer. He could be an intriguing add for the Hornets.

Mudiay came into the league with giant expectations, but hasn’t really lived up to those expectations thus far. He’s a good player, but many thought that he would be a star point guard by now. He’s still not a great shooter, but he’s a dynamic athlete and is still just 23 years old. There’s still time for him.

This past season was Mudiay’s best as a professional, averaging 14.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists. Charlotte, like New York, would offer him a good situation for playing time, so maybe he can carry over the momentum he built this season going into next season.

While I don’t think Mudiay will ever be a star, I do still believe that he can be a quality starting point guard in this league. Playing for a time that will likely be rebuilding in Charlotte will give him less pressure, but he still has a lot to prove to many people around the league.
