The Charlotte Hornets are going to have a hard time re-signing Kemba Walker during this year’s free agency. Multiple teams are interested in him, and the Hornets are not trying their best to keep him.
Reports have indicated that Charlotte is trying to low-ball Walker with a 5-year $160 million deal. This is disrespectful and just proves that the Hornets are not taking Walker’s free agency seriously.

With these ridiculous offers to Walker, the Hornets are basically playing with fire. You would think owner Michael Jordan would be serious about keeping his franchise player, but he clearly must not be.
Walker has done so much for the city of Charlotte, and since the Hornets are not being serious, I could only imagine how Walker feels. This must be the equivalence of someone getting stabbed in the back by someone they love.
Kemba Walker has broken many franchise records, and he has been the reason for the excitement of Hornets basketball. Walker is coming off the best season of his career, where he averaged 25.6 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game.
The star point guard also was chosen to start in last year’s All-Star Game. He gained a lot of respect after many of his impressive performances last year, and it’s likely why a few team’s want him.

Walker is easily my favorite player in the league, and it would significantly hurt if Charlotte decides to let him go. After I met Walker last year, I automatically knew how perfect he was for Charlotte.
This man has won two Sportsmanship Awards, and he made the All-NBA Third Team last season. Losing someone of this magnitude would hurt anyone’s basketball organization.

Walker is the greatest Charlotte player of all-time, and the Hornets need to show some loyalty and work out a deal. Losing Walker to a conference foe that the Hornets play 3+ times a year would sting.
The Hornets can find a way to dump some salary; this is not impossible to do. What it all boils down to is loyalty, and the Hornets are disrespecting Walker with their low offers.
With as much as he has done for Charlotte, wouldn’t you agree that these offers are bad? I’m hoping the front office wakes up because losing Kemba Walker is not ideal.
Hornets’ GM Mitch Kupchak even stated that he would do everything that he could to re-sign Walker. With these latest reports on the offers, does it feel like Kupchak is trying everything to keep his star point guard?
The Hornets’ owner is the greatest basketball of all-time, surely he wants to show some loyalty to his franchise player right? Free agency is set to open up on Sunday night, and the Hornets are running out of time to re-sign Walker.
