Power Forward

Brendan Boylan: “Power Forward is a spot the Hornets addressed in the draft with Kentucky’s P.J Washington however Mitch Kupchak stated he expected Washington to spend time in the G-League this season. With the team not extending the qualifying offer to Frank Kaminsky, expect the hornets to be in play for a player to start over or back up Marvin Williams this season. Bobby Portis is a restricted free agent, however is a physical and high motor player who has extended his range during his time in the NBA. While it may take a good offer from Charlotte to pry him away from Washington look at Portis as a potential piece to the puzzle.”

Zachary Padmore: “During the season, it appeared that the Hornets had some interest in trading for JaMychal Green. A trade to Charlotte never happened, but he did find his way to the Clippers and played very well for them. Now that he’s a free agent, it could be Charlotte’s time to make a run at him. He’s a tough defender, he can stretch the floor and he simply plays hard. I love him as a player, absolutely love him.”

Elijah Edwards: “Another player who earned career highs nearly across the board is Tobias Harris and I think the Hornets would utilize him very well. His ability to shoot the three proves he can stretch defenses and while not the best rebounder, he snags a good amount per contest. I think he would fit in perfectly in James Borrego’s scheme.”

Caleb Baugher: “Julius Randle is a name on every team’s radar after his best season yet. The 24 year old averaged 21 points a game in the shadows of Anthony Davis. Randle’s scoring ability and three point shot is what has been missing from Charlotte’s offense in the front court. Acquiring Randle opens up the floor in a half court set, as well as adds pressure to defenses when the Hornets want to go on a fast break.”

De White: “One of my favorite people and players. Nikola Mirotic is the perfect power forward in my opinion. Size, a shot, and experience? Dude checks all the boxes.”
