Brendan Boylan: “There is a log jam at center for the Hornets between Zeller, Biyombo, and Hernangomez. While adding a Center in free agency does not seem likely the Hornets may arrange a trade for Gastonia native Hassan Whiteside who has stated his desire to play for the Hornets if traded by Miami.”

Zachary Padmore: “One free agent who I think would be a perfect fit for the Hornets is DeAndre Jordan. I’m not sure if he’d be willing to take a contract for less money, but adding Jordan would boost this team into the playoffs for sure. I think he’s one of the more underrated players in the league, and is a big man that could thrive with Kemba Walker.”

Elijah Edwards: “I think Nikola Vucevic would be a nice haul, provided the Hornets could swing it. Given how his numbers increased across the board, it would take a lot of front office finagling in order for it to happen, as he’ll most likely command a hefty contract. He’s one of the more realistic players Charlotte could nab given names like Kristaps Porzingis or DeMarcus Cousins would be out of their price range, I believe.”

Giovanni Spillman: “Finally, for the Center position, the Hornets would be wise to go after Brook Lopez. He had one of his best seasons from beyond the arc last season, and he averaged a career high in blocks per game. The Hornets could use his skill set, as he can help in multiple categories. A veteran would be useful in free agency, and he may be an affordable option.”

Caleb Baugher: “DeMarcus Cousins didn’t have quite the season he wanted in Golden State due to injuries. The hot head big man could be a steal in this year’s free agency because of his under performance and injury concerns last season. DeMarcus averaged 16 points with Golden State and has the ceiling to be a consistent 20-10 player. With speculation DeMarcus Cousins could struggle to find a max deal, expect a team like the Hornets to offer him something for a couple of years.”

Next. Charlotte Hornets need to simply pay Kemba Walker. dark

De White: “I’m still a Hassan Whiteside fan, so I’d like to have him to come home. I think his play would improve because of his willingness to be here and happiness of being home. Another option would be Willie Cauley-Stein. Dude is underrated to me and he’s a stretch big who’ll definitely get better with time.”
