Terry Rozier: Shooting, Decision Making

Charlotte has their new point guard after moving on from Kemba Walker, and his name is Terry Rozier. He’ll get a lot more touches and opportunity with the Hornets than he did with the Celtics, and I expect a pretty big season from him, but he still has to improve in a few areas.

First things first, Rozier hasn’t shot about 40 percent from the field since he entered the NBA. He’s an average shooter at best from the perimeter, and with more shots coming his way in Charlotte, he’s going to have to improve his shooting, efficiency, and decision making.

The fact that he hasn’t shot about 40 percent is a little scary, but he’s a really talented player, and I think he’ll begin to figure things out as a starter. He’s very athletic, has a pretty good handle, and we all saw what he could do in that 2018 playoff run with Boston. He’s ready for a starting role, and I think he’ll make some big improvements.

Rozier has some big shoes to fill, considering Kemba Walker was arguably the best player in franchise history, but he’s got the talent to make an immediate impact, especially if he improves in these two areas.
