Dwayne Bacon will start a Small Forward

Reports have indicated that the Hornets will likely make Miles Bridges the starting power forward. If this ends up being the case, the Hornets will need a productive player to start at the three spot.

Dwayne Bacon can easily become a starter at the small forward position, as he played a lot of minutes with the starters last season. After his terrific play in Summer League, he has proved that he deserves to start.

As a starter at the end of last season, Bacon was playing the best basketball of his career. He managed to average over thirteen points per game in his last ten games, and he also managed to put up 20+ points in three consecutive games.

When Bacon started last season, he averaged 12.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. This is better numbers than half of last season’s starting unit. Bacon is easily better than the veteran Nicolas Batum, so I would be surprised if Bacon does not get his chance to start next season.

Bacon had a terrific season last year, and he hit a career-high in many statistical categories. He managed to make his points per game go up by four, and he also knocked down a career-high in threes in a game with 5.

Bacon loves Charlotte, and he wants to do everything he can do to make his team succeed. He’s a hard worker, and his recent play should make him deserving of a starting spot. I expect Bacon to have a breakout season in his third year.
