Charlotte Hornets: 5 candidates for Charlotte’s second two-way contract
No. 3 – Caleb Martin
Caleb Martin, the twin brother of Charlotte’s second round draft pick Cody Martin, didn’t get the chance to play in Summer League due to injury, but that should not dismiss the fact that he has the talent to play in the NBA, just like his brother.
Prior to the 2018-19 season, I actually thought that Caleb was a better player than Cody. I believe that Cody had more tools that translated over to the NBA, but Caleb is no slouch. He averaged 19.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists during his season season at Nevada.
Caleb and Cody, the Martin Twins, have been together throughout their young careers thus far. They played together in middle school and in high school, and then they both committed to play college basketball at North Carolina State. After two years with the Wolfpack, the twins then transferred to play at Nevada.
It would be awesome to see them begin their NBA careers together as well. Being a twin myself, I understand the special bond that they must have. I think Cody is a legit NBA player right now, and I think Caleb isn’t that far behind him. With the right development, these guys could turn into good pros.
