No. 2 – Donta Hall

Former Alabama big man Donta Hall is a really intriguing prospect, thanks to his athleticism and shot blocking skill. He played for the Pistons in Summer League this year, and should have impressed many teams around the league with his play. He’d be a good developmental project for the Hornets.

Hall averaged 6.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in just 16.7 minutes per game during Summer League. He brings so much energy every time he steps on the court, and he moves really well for his size. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if a team brings him in for training camp and he makes a big impression.

Charlotte didn’t have much rim protection last season, so a player like Hall could be appealing to them. He blocks shots, he rim runs and he’s only going to get better. If they develop him the right way, he could become a rim protecting force.

Hall did have a pre-draft workout for the Hornets prior to the 2019 NBA Draft, so maybe there is still some interest in him. He’s not the biggest name just yet, but he’s a guy to keep an eye on for sure; I think he’s got a future in this league as a reserve big man.
