The NBA released their Top 100 Dunks of the 2018-19 season today, and Charlotte Hornets wing Miles Bridges made three different appearances on the list.

Even though today’s NBA is mostly about shooting and spacing, the dunk is still the best shot in basketball. Charlotte Hornets young star Miles Bridges knows a thing or two when it comes to dunking on the court.

The NBA put out a Top 100 Dunks video on YouTube. Four of the 100 dunks were from the Hornets. Cody Zeller had the 65th best dunk with a facial over Aaron Gordon in Orlando, but the other three belonged to none other than Miles Bridges.

Bridges took home the 75th best dunk with a huge two-handed jam off the backboard feed from Malik Monk. He also had the 42nd best dunk, with a putback dunk in Milwaukee in which he came flying out of nowhere. His last dunk ranked 4th on the list, and I think we all know what it could be.

Did you guess right? This dunk from Bridges was easily one of the best dunks of the season. His athleticism is simply jaw-dropping. This dunk here was one of his first big time NBA highlights. I have a feeling that we will see more slams like this in the future from the guy many like to call “Sky Miles”.

I also have a feeling that this eurostep windmill from Las Vegas Summer League would have landed somewhere near the top of the list. My goodness.

Coming out of college at Michigan State, Bridges was always known to be a special athlete. He’s still developing in other areas, but his athleticism is top notch and he’s one of the better athletes in the entire league. He’ll put on a show for Hornets fans for many years to come.

The dunks are great, but fans should really be excited about some of the other aspects of his game. Bridges has a chance to be an elite perimeter defender, and he has shown improvements with his ball handling as well. He’s a good passer, an improving shooter and a fearless attacker.

With Kemba Walker, who has been the man for the Hornets for many years, now in Boston with the Celtics, Bridges is being looked at as one of the faces of the franchise. The hope is that he can develop into an All-Star talent one day.

During his rookie season, Bridges averaged 7.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 21.2 minutes. He should be a full-time starter now, and will have the ball in his hands a lot more. You can expect those numbers to increase as a sophomore in the NBA.

I was surprised to see that Malik Monk didn’t end up somewhere on this list. He’s just as good of an athlete as Bridges is, and had a few big time throwdowns during the season himself. Regardless, the Hornets have some freak athletes on their team.

dark. Next. Miles Bridges led the team in impressive stat last season

It’s cool to see Miles Bridges get some recognition this summer. 2019-20 is going to be a tough season for the Charlotte Hornets, but at least the fans can look forward to watching this 21 year old continue to grow and develop.

Also, shout out to Hornets play-by-play announcer Eric Collins for always being hyped. He makes these dunks even more exciting with his enthusiasm. He’s one of the best in the business.
