Terry Rozier III
The big splash for the Charlotte Hornets in free agency was landing Terry Rozier III in a sign-and-trade with the Celtics. After coming off the bench during his four-year stint in Boston, Rozier III will finally have the chance to be a starter, and I fully expect him to take advantage and have a big 2019-20 season..
Rozier III will have freedom to run the show for the Hornets. He’s going to get a lot of shots up and he’s going to play a ton of minutes. Many have questioned the contract the Hornets gave him, but if he lives up to the potential that I see for him, then it will absolutely be worth it.
Yes, Rozier III does come with some legit concerns. He hasn’t shot over 40 percent from the field as a professional and he makes some poor decisions at times. However, he’s a really talented guard that could soften the blow of losing Walker this summer. Fans will quickly latch onto him.
I would not be surprised at all if Rozier III ends up flirting with the 20 points per game mark and is a candidate for the Most Improved Player of the Year Award. He’s got a real opportunity ahead of him, so here’s hoping that he runs with that opportunity.
There will be a lot of highs and a lot of lows, but at the end of the day, Rozier III was a talent that the Hornets couldn’t pass on when a sign-and-trade became apparent. It’s his show now.
