Marvin Williams
Marvin Williams is going to have to adapt to a new role next season. Miles Bridges will likely start at power forward, which will bump Marvelous Marvin to the bench. He should still get rotational minutes, but he’ll play more of a mentor role while serving as a stretch four with the second unit.
Williams is a reliable veteran that has value around the league. It wouldn’t surprise me if he is in trade rumors throughout the season, considering he’s on an expiring contract worth $15 million. If the Hornets could land a late first round pick for him, it would be a win-win for both sides.
Last season, Williams averaged 10.1 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 37 percent from three-point range. He started in all of the 75 games that he played in. During his time in Charlotte, he’s primarily been a starter, so it will be interesting to see how he plays in his new role.
I expect another productive season from Marvin Williams in what could be his final season as a member of the Charlotte Hornets. He’s a true professional and will surely be a key veteran for the team as we get closer and closer to the season.
