Miles Bridges
Kemba Walker is now in Boston, and Miles Bridges may now be “the guy” in Charlotte. The exciting second-year player is a huge piece to what the team is doing now and in the future. You can expect him to start and play a ton of minutes throughout the year. He averaged 7.5 points as a rookie, and I expect that number to go way up.
Bridges still has a lot of developing to do on the offensive end, but he showed some signs in Summer League with his improved ball handling and decision making. If his shooting and ball handling ever catches up to his jaw-dropping athleticism, watch out.
He, like Bacon, showed a lot of promise towards the end of last season, averaging 9.6 points and 5.3 rebounds after the All-Star break. I thought his defense was really good, as well as his playmaking and slashing. He’ll have the ball in his hands all season long as he plays through all the ups and downs of an NBA season.
I think Bridges will continue to get better going into his sophomore season. He’s already showed some really nice growth, and if he keeps it up, he has a chance to be a really good player. Many Charlotte Hornets fans hope this man can become the next All-Star in Charlotte.
Time will tell if that’s the case, but he’ll be fully unleashed in 2019-20, much to the delight of the fans.
