Charlotte Hornets: Predicting each players stats for the 2019-20 season
Devonte’ Graham
After beginning his rookie season on the bench behind two future Hall of Fame point guards, Devonte’ Graham will enter his sophomore season as the clear backup point guard behind Terry Rozier. He should be a consistent piece in the rotation and can build off a successful rookie campaign.
Graham doesn’t have star upside, but he’s going to be a good player in this league for a long time. I don’t know if he will ever be a starter, but he’ll at least be a high-level backup point in my mind. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Borrego use him at the shooting guard spot at times as well.
Last season, Graham averaged 4.7 points and 2.6 assists in 14.7 minutes. He struggled with his perimeter shooting, but his shot looked much better in Summer League this year. It’s a small sample size, but if he can improve the shooting, it will help him and the second unit big time.
He doesn’t get as much hype as some of the other youngsters on the roster, but Graham is a baller. He’s an important piece to the core they are developing and will see increased opportunity this season. Graham is someone that I’m excited to watch.
