Brutal Western Conference trip early on

The Charlotte Hornets will open the 2019-20 season with two home games, against the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves. After that, though, is a daunting four-game road trip against some of the best team that the Western Conference has to offer.

On October 27th, the Hornets will be in Los Angeles to take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. They will be super tough in the West after acquiring Anthony Davis. The next night, Charlotte will get a taste of the NBA’s newest top duo with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George of the Clippers.

The Clippers are my early favorites to win the championship in 2019-20, so that won’t be an easy game. Next, the Hornets will in Sacramento to face a young Kings team that I think is playoff bound, and will finish the trip against the Golden State Warriors, who have an All-Star back court in Stephen Curry and D’Angelo Russell.

It may be better to get some of these tough games out of the way early into the season, but man, this is going to be a really tough test for a young team so early into the season. A road trip like this one can certainly build character moving forward.

Now, we must sit and wait until October 25th for the first Charlotte Hornets game of the 2019-20 season. Hopefully the time passes by quickly, but in my past experiences, this time of the year seems to go on forever.
