Charlotte Hornets: Where Terry Rozier ranks among all starting point guards
21. Jeff Teague, Minnesota Timberwolves
With Derrick Rose not on the roster anymore, Teague is going to see a lot more playing time this season. Teague only managed to start in 41 games last season, but he did help the Timberwolves by averaging 12.1 points and 8.2 assists per game. Teague has some great teammates, and his ability to be a role player should continue to help Karl Anthony-Towns and Andrew Wiggins.
20. Collin Sexton, Cleveland Cavaliers
Toward the end of last season, Sexton established himself as a potential winner for the Rookie of the Year Award. Even though Luka Doncic outplayed him, Sexton still managed to average 16.7 points and 3.0 assists per game.
Sexton will have a better supporting cast next season, and his scoring numbers should dramatically improve. The Cavaliers may not look like a playoff team, but Sexton is playing like someone who wants to be in the playoffs every year.
19. Terry Rozier, Charlotte Hornets
Terry Rozier deserves this rank because of his previous play with the Boston Celtics. Rozier might not have had the best season last year with the Celtics, but a lot of it had to do with the decrease in playing time.
Rozier was a player who dominated in the 2017-18 playoffs, and he helped lead the Celtics to many playoff victories. His winning mentality will be a factor in the development of Charlotte’s young players.
Rozier has not gotten the chance to lead his own NBA team yet, and he is hungry for this opportunity he is getting. He’s never missed the playoffs, so it will be interesting to see how he handles this potential rebuild with the Charlotte Hornets. Rozier might be a player that surprised a lot of people this season.
