The 2019-20 season is right around the corner, which lead us to an important question — where do the Charlotte Hornets rank against the rest of the league?

After an eventful off-season around the NBA, it’s almost go-time for the Charlotte Hornets and every other team as we inch closer to the regular season. Training Camp is later this month, and preseason will begin in early October.

It’s no secret — the Charlotte Hornets had a rough off-season. Arguably one of the worst off-seasons in the entire league. They lost their two best players, Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb, in Free Agency to two teams that will be serious contenders in the Eastern Conference.

Now, it’s rebuild time in Charlotte. You can argue that this is something that should have been done a couple years ago, but it’s better late than never.

The Charlotte Hornets finished last season with a 39-43 record, which placed them in the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference. They finished just two games out of the playoffs. Missing out on another playoff run was a major setback, for sure.

Most people have this team finishing towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference and as early favorites for a top selection in the 2020 NBA Draft. We still have a season to play out though, so today, we’ll be taking a look at how the Charlotte Hornets stack up compared to each team in the league.

When comparing, we’ll look at each teams 2018-19 record, the season series records and who has the advantage going into the 2019-20 season. Charlotte Hornets fans, sit back, relax and let’s get this started with the Atlanta Hawks.
