Miami Heat

  • ’18-19 Record: 39-43
  • ’18-19 Season Series: 2-2
  • ’19-20 Advantage: Heat

One of the more slept-on teams in the NBA is the Miami Heat. After adding Jimmy Butler in free agency and promoting Bam Adebayo to starting center, this team has their eyes set on a return to the playoffs, and I think there’s a good chance that it happens.

They just missed out on the playoffs last season, which put them in the same boat as the Charlotte Hornets — close, but no cigar. Instead of tearing it down, though, Miami opted to give it another shot and with the moves they’ve made, the playoffs will be a realistic feat for them.

Over the years, Miami has been known for their intense training and culture. It seems like Butler will be a perfect fit for them. The All-Star wing will be the man on this team and many have placed high expectations on them with Butler leading the way.

While they aren’t a top team in the Eastern Conference, the Heat are certainly going to be tough to beat, especially for a team like Charlotte. Miami’s defense is very good, and they improved offensively, which was a necessity.

Maybe the Hornets can take a game, but Miami has the upper hand in this season series.
