Minnesota Timberwolves

  • ’18-19 Record: 36-46
  • ’18-19 Season Series: 1-1
  • ’19-20 Advantage: Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves had an interesting off-season. I love what they did in the draft, trading up for a guy in Jarrett Culver who I believe has All-Star upside. Free agency was a bit underwhelming for them, but they were able to add some nice role players in Jake Layman and Noah Vonleh.

They still have a gaping hole at the point guard spot, and still need more production from Andrew Wiggins, but a healthy Robert Covington next to an improving Karl-Anthony Towns should at least keep them competitive in the Western Conference.

They aren’t a playoff team, but they certainly are not one of the bottom feeders in the conference. I see them as a team stuck in mediocrity at the moment, but they have the potential to get out of it with the young talent they have.

The Hornets will only play the Timberwolves twice, like always, but it’s not super crazy to think that the Hornets can take at least one game against them. Still, Minnesota would be favored, so it’s far from a guarantee.
