Orlando Magic

  • ’18-19 Record: 42-40
  • ’18-19 Season Series: 2-2
  • ’19-20 Advantage: Magic

Former Charlotte Hornets Head Coach Steve Clifford has done a tremendous job since taking over the Orlando Magic last season. He led them to their first playoff berth in six years and has them on track to succeed even more during the 2019-20 season.

Orlando didn’t make very many changes this summer, but managed to get better. Al-Farouq Aminu was a very underrated addition that I think will play a huge role for this team. They also re-signed Nikola Vucevic and Terrence Ross, which were priorities going into the summer. The team chemistry should be very high.

It’s awesome seeing Orlando playing in meaningful games again. They spent a lot of time out of the playoffs, but I think they could be a consistent force in the Eastern Conference now. They have an excellent mix of young talent to go along with veteran players.

Orlando is one of the best defensive teams in the league, so the Hornets will have to work hard if they hope to steal a game or two from Orlando during the 2019-20 season. I think Orlando will easily take the season series this time around.
