Phoenix Suns

  • ’18-19 Record: 19-63
  • ’18-19 Season Series: 2-0 (Hornets)
  • ’19-20 Advantage: Neutral

Over the past few seasons, the Phoenix Suns have been the laughingstock of the league. They have never won over 25 or more games in the Devin Booker era, but that may change with the additions they made this summer.

The big signing they made was getting Ricky Rubio. I think he will help take some pressure off of Devin Booker, but his lack of spacing continues to be a problem. Actually, lack of spacing is a big problem on this whole roster. The only pure shooter on the team is rookie Cameron Johnson.

Still, they are trying to get out of this bottom spell and I think they will show some improvement in the win column in 2019-20, but not by much. I think the roster is put together poorly and playing in the Western Conference just makes things worse for them.

This team needs progress. Even if it’s a little progress.

I think both the Hornets and Suns are pretty evenly matched, which is why the advantage is neutral. Both of these teams will likely be hoping for luck during the 2020 NBA Draft lottery next year.
