Portland Trail Blazers

  • ’18-19 Record: 53-29
  • ’18-19 Season Series: 2-0 (Blazers)
  • ’19-20 Advantage: Blazers

Most people will probably disagree with me on this one, but I think the Portland Trail Blazers are one of the biggest losers of the off-season. After a deep playoff run, they made some questionable moves that I think will come back to bite them.

The biggest loss, in my opinion, is the duo of Moe Harkless and Al-Farouq Aminu. Those two players did so much for Portland defensively. They can both guard multiple positions and often times guarded the opposing teams best player.

Another loss is not having Jusuf Nurkic, who I thought was their second best player last season, on the court and healthy until late in the regular season. They added Hassan Whiteside to play his role in the meantime, but that doesn’t move the needle for me whatsoever.

I think Portland is still a playoff team, but I don’t see them finishing near the third seed like they did last season. They obviously have the advantage over a team like Charlotte, but I’m interested to see how they fare against the top teams in the league.
