San Antonio Spurs

  • ’18-19 Record: 48-34
  • ’18-19 Season Series: 2-0 (Hornets)
  • ’19-20 Advantage: Spurs

Surprisingly, the Hornets took home both games against the Spurs last season. It was the first time since 1997 that they swept the season series against San Antonio. It was two impressive showings from the Hornets, but I don’t expect that to happen again during the 2019-20 season.

It’s hard to bet against Gregg Popovich and his team. They’ve been so good for so long and are one of the best run franchise in all of sports. Teams strive to have a connection even close to the Spurs, but you just don’t see it often.

The Spurs look like a playoff team once again in 2019-20, but in the historically deep Western Conference, it’s not going to be an easy task. Luckily, the majority of their team from a season ago will be returning, which will give them good chemistry compared to other teams who had shaken things up.

Like I said, the Charlotte Hornets got two wins over the San Antonio Spurs last season, but don’t bet on that happening again during this season. It’s going to be really difficult.
