Brooklyn Nets

  • ’18-19 Record: 42-40
  • ’18-19 Season Series: 2-2
  • ’19-20 Advantage: Nets

The Nets, much like the Hawks, constructed a rebuild that should be followed by other rebuilding teams. This team had given up multiple draft picks in a nightmare trade with the Celtics, but still managed to get into the playoffs after only three years of struggling.

They just keep getting better and better. They were one of the biggest winners of the free agency period, landing the trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Deandre Jordan. While Durant will likely miss the entire 2019-20 season, this team is still a major threat to make a deep run in the playoffs.

I feel like the Nets don’t get talked about much with Durant out, but I still see them as a powerhouse with or without him. They have a great young core, a great coaching staff and a superstar point guard to go with it.

The Hornets managed to win two games against the Nets last season, but wins are going to be tougher to come by during the 2019-20 season. Seeing what Brooklyn has accomplished over the past few seasons should be motivating to the Charlotte front office.
